Pursuing a career as a stylist has always been my dream profession. I am passionate about utilizing my talent and creativity to positively impact someone's day. At the age of 14, my father purchased a pair of clippers to cut my brothers' hair, as we were living on a fixed income. I took the initiative to assume this responsibility, cutting my brothers' and father's hair. I developed a passion for hairstyling at a young age, and throughout my school years, I continued to hone my skills.
After graduating from high school in June 1999, I was accepted into beauty school; however, my enrollment was delayed until the end of 2000 due to my pregnancy, which was discovered in September 1999. Following the birth of my child, I became a single mother in 2001. To support myself and my family, I secured employment at Sally's Beauty Supply Store, where I worked until I completed beauty school in early 2002. Upon obtaining my certification in April 2002, I embarked on a successful career as a hairstylist. My first position was at Great Clips, where I worked for approximately one year before transitioning to Regis Salon at the Tacoma Mall in Washington state. This move enabled me to expand my skills beyond men's haircuts.
In June 2002, I entered into a serious relationship, which culminated in marriage in 2004. In May 2005, I gave birth to my second child and spent the next two years as a stay-at-home mother before returning to work. As my husband was a member of the military, we relocated five times between 2004 and 2014, making it challenging to establish a consistent client base. In 2013, I briefly explored a career in insurance sales for five years before returning to hairstyling full time.
Currently, I reside in Fort Worth, Texas, where I have lived for over a decade. Despite facing personal challenges, including the loss of my younger brother in 2017 and divorce in 2018, I have shown perseverance. Throughout my life, I have consistently shown resilience and adaptability, and I continue to excel in my career as a hairstylist. I take pride in having built a solid reputation during my career and I am delighted with my current situation. My ideal job has become my driving passion. I am now happily remarried and thriving as an independent stylist at Legacy Salons in Keller, Texas.
